ICONSIAM

Technique: Handwoven mixed media

Size : W 150 x H 100 cm

This site-specific fibre artwork is inspired by the dappling of evening lights upon one of the tributaries of the Chao Phraya River, and is a thematic offshoot of “River of Kings” a large scale woven installation by artist Ploenchan Vinyaratn on display at ICONSIAM. Like “River of Kings” this iridescent piece incorporates waste materials as part of the artist’s ongoing commitment to sustainability in working and living, metaphorically taking trash out of the water and sequestering it in this handwoven frieze.
